WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY?

Classical Osteopathy was founded by Andrew Taylor Still in the late 1800’s. It is based upon the principles of natural law, stating that all natural materials (our bodies included) are governed by their structure.

The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.
— Thomas Edison

As OMPs, our goal is to balance the lines of tension affecting the structural framework of the body. By doing so, we free up the pathways within which our nerves, arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels travel. Once treatment is applied, the body begins to integrate the changes made and communication within and between bodily systems is readjusted to normal conditions. This allows the body to self-heal & self-regulate, two terms which reflect a myriad of beautifully intricate processes present in the body.

Osteopathy is a manual therapy that combines philosophy, creativity, and science. This art form is unique as it allows the practitioner to approach each individual with a tailored treatment plan, focusing on their specific needs as it relates to their anatomy.
